Pat is an experienced strategist, financial executive, and operations change agent. Growing up in the family business at Camcraft, Inc. a precision component part supplier, Pat led teams to improve processes in 6 industries over his 30 year career. As the vice president of operations at Camcraft, he was involved with the purchase of capital equipment enabling him to understand the value suppliers provide to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Selling capital equipment now with Matrix Design, Pat is committed to leading the company to be our customers’ most trusted automation supplier. He holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from LeTourneau University.
Jeff has nearly 20 years’ of experience working in the automation integration business serving in various capacities. Jeff has a Mechanical Engineering degree, beginning his career designing robotic work cells, automation systems, and positioning equipment. He holds patents for designs involving robotic work cells. Besides engineering, he held roles in production management and various executive roles including VP of Operations and Managing Director.
Ken has nearly 21 years’ of experience working in the CNC machine and automation integration business. After graduating with a degree in Electronics, he spent the first 5 years of his career designing control systems, servicing systems, and developing grinding processes for high precision cylindrical grinding machines. In 2000, Ken and two friends started Matrix Design, Inc. building the company from operating out of a basement to a multi-million dollar operation providing custom automation solutions to a variety of industries. After the sale of the business in 2013 to the Bertsche family, Ken remains part of the Matrix team as VP of Electrical and Controls.
Mike is the senior operations leader with a unique combination of commercial and operational experience having worked for several businesses including Berkshire Hathaway, Marmon Group, and ITW. He has strong background in manufacturing businesses having marketed engineered products across diverse verticals including automotive, aerospace, electronics, commercial construction, materials handling, and general industrial. Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Benedictine University and an MBA from North Park University. Mike has a passion for making a difference through people development and process improvement.
Ivette has 30 years’ experience in IT solutions. While pursuing a business degree at Northeastern Illinois University, she joined Matrix’s sister company, Camcraft, where she worked as the IT Manager for nearly 28 years. While at Camcraft, she worked alongside Management, Financial, Operation, and Quality that provided her the understanding to successfully streamline many business processes through the implementation of appropriate technical solutions.
Ivette is a passionate and progressive Information Technology Professional who has made significant successful impacts at Matrix with the implementation of a new ERP system, applications automation, business case development, and infrastructure transformation.
Doug has over 20 years’ experience in the machine building industry. He assembled precision grinders where he learned how to build, wire, and program machines. Doug eventually led their service department, overseeing acceptance and installations around the world. He joined Matrix in 2010 as the Service & Applications manager and is responsible for leading over 25 applications engineers and robot technicians at Matrix to ensure each system is designed, built, programmed, approved, and installed successfully for our customers. Doug has an Associates of Science in CAD/CAM.
Rand has over 30 years’ of business experience. Ten of those years were in the consumer electronics field while over 20 years were spent in the manufacturing and automation industries. In addition to various accounting roles, he has also held numerous positions outside of finance including Operations and General Management. Rand holds a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Mankato State College.
Jack recently celebrated his 10th year as the Production Manager at Matrix. He has over 30 years’ experience in the automation industry. Previously, Jack owned and operated his own machine shop making parts for many companies including Matrix. He held positions at other automation businesses over the years, which include Manufacturing Engineer, Application Engineer, Machine Designer, and Machine Builder. Jack started out as a Tool Maker and served his apprenticeship at his family’s business.
Casey has worked in the Human Resources field for the past 5 years. Prior to working at Matrix, he worked as a corporate recruiter for a large manufacturing company.
With thoughts of becoming a school administrator, Casey graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a BS in Elementary and Special Education. It was during summer work experiences that he realized the business world was where he really wanted to be. With a discipline in education and an enthusiasm in business, Casey integrated his two interests into a passion for people. He gets joy out of creating the best work environment possible to ensure an engaged and enthusiastic workforce. He has a SHRM-CP certification and proactively continues to help Matrix employees thrive both personally and professionally through company events and training.
