SOUTH ELGIN, IL – August 29, 2016 – Matrix Design reports incoming orders for the first half of 2016 increased significantly compared to the prior year, resulting in a record half as demand for automation systems continues to increase. “We are finding more and more manufacturers adopting a continuous improvement mind set to stay competitive and that is leading to more Automation opportunities for us,” said Jeff Bennett, Vice President of Sales. “We’re also seeing a major transformation in the way end-users perceive automation. In the past, automation projects were heavily scrutinized by management and capital was difficult to come by. Now, management is challenging and pressuring their engineering teams to automate as quickly as possible where it makes sense.”

Robotic machine tending and deburring applications continue to be primary growth drivers. Matrix reports more demand in automated inspection, vision and general material handling applications and expects future growth in those areas. The automotive sector continues to be a strong market for Matrix but aerospace and general industries are showing the highest growth in demand on a percentage basis.
