Tracy Baer has been our Service Department Coordinator since July 2017. Her work background is not what you would expect from an automation professional. She first worked as a foot and ankle surgical nurse for 16 years before becoming the Events Manager at Christ Community Church in St. Charles. The move allowed her to spend more time with her (then young) daughter. Just before joining Matrix, she was the Events Director for the International Network of Children’s Ministry, which coordinates conferences for 2,500 children’s ministry leaders.
Here at Matrix, Tracy assists the Service Team with scheduling, ordering parts, sending quotes to the customers, processing requests for service, and helping the team stay organized.
Tracy’s Superpower: Organization Skills
Luckily for us, Tracy’s work background allowed her to hone her organizational skills to superior levels. Her goal is to use her powers for good by setting strong systems and processes in place that will support the growth of our company now, and as we move into the future.
She’s already well on her way. In just 12 weeks, she created a more structured system for checking out Matrix vehicles; designed an efficient way to get parts and robot information into our internal program; devised a better system for tracking quotes and orders; and developed an electronic, online format for service team members to order parts when they are out in the field. And that’s just a few examples!
Tracy is grateful for the fact that the company’s current growth allows her to use her organizational skills at their maximum strength. She also knows she’s not alone in her quest for excellence since she thinks the whole service team is made up of amazingly talented people.
Rest and Recreation Activities
When the weather is nice, Tracy loves walking, and spending time with her daughter (who recently graduated college with a degree in graphic design), or visiting her mom’s house in Lake Geneva. Hanging out at the beach and jet skiing are the big attractions there.
Otherwise, she loves to sit in the sun and read a book (who-done-it mystery books are her weakness) or do small home improvement projects with her husband.
Tracy is also an accomplished musician. She has played the oboe & English horn with the Judson Civic Orchestra for over 12 years.
