Introducing

Logo for M-Tend. with dark blue wordmark and a teal dot at the end

One robot. Five integrated processes. Continuous, repeatable production.

Matrix’s standard collaborative machine tending cell, built on the FANUC CRX-20𝑖A/L robot: pick, tend, wash, blow-off and stage parts from a single skid-mounted, enclosed workstation.

Robust automation for tough tending applications.

M-Tend takes the operator out of the dull, dirty, dangerous loop of feeding parts to a machine tool – without the integration cost of a custom cell. Skid-mounted, fenceless and pre-engineered, it ships, drops in, and runs.

Five steps. One arm. Zero handoffs.

Each cycle moves parts from raw staging to finished staging without operator intervention.

01
Pick

Robot retrieves a raw part from the staging nest using dual Schunk electric grippers.

02
Tend

Raw part is brought into the machine tool, where it is exchanged with a finished part.

03
Wash

Part is unloaded into the dunk tank for submersion in the parts wash basin.

04
Blow-Off

Robot moved the part to the MiJet station to clear residual fluid and debris.

05
Stage

Finished part is returned to the appropriate nest or tray for downstream handling.

Built around the operator and the part

Every component is selected for repeatability, fast changeover, and safe collaborative operation.

FANUC CRX-20𝑖A/L Robot

20 kg payload, 1418 mm reach, R-30iB Mini Plus controller, fenceless collaborative operation.

Dual Schunk Electric Grippers

Two independently programmable gripper for simultaneous load/unload at the machine.

Quick-Change Fingers

Tool-less finger swaps for fast part-family changeover with no fluid at show.

Part Staging Nests

Discrete nests for raw and finished parts keep orientation locked between cycles.

Parts Wash Dunk Tank

Submersion station for in-process cleaning, mounted within the cell footprint.

MIJET Blow-off Station

Removes residual fluid and chips from finished parts before staging or downstream handling.

SICK Safety Floor Scanner

Robot-rated perimeter monitoring enables fenceless, collaborative operator interaction.

Steel Frame & Base Platform

Welded-steel skid with fork-truck pockets for relocation, redeployment, and shipping.

FANUC Tablet

Touch pendant placed at operator height for easy program selection and override.

Standard configuration

Every M-Tend cell ships with the same core hardware – only end-of-arm tooling and nests are tailored to your part.
